भगवान महावीर का संदेश प्राणी मात्र के कल्याण के लिए है। उन्होंने मनुय-मनुष्य के बीच भेदभाव की सभी दीवारों को ध्वस्त किया। उन्होंने जन्मना वर्ण व्यवस्था का विरोध किया। इस विश्व में न कोई प्राणी बड़ा है और न कोई छोटा। उन्होंने गुण-कर्म के आधार पर मनुष्य के महत्व का प्रतिपादन किया। ऊँच-नीच, उन्नत-अवनत, छोटे-बड़े सभी अपने कर्मों से बनते हैं। जातिवाद अतात्विक है।

सभी समान हैं न कोई छोटा, न कोई बड़ा। भगवान की दृष्टि समभावी थी- सर्वत्र समता-भाव। वे सम्पूर्ण विश्व को समभाव से देखने वाले साधक थे, समता का आचरण करने वाले साधक थे। उनका प्रतिमान था-जो व्यक्ति अपने संस्कारों का निर्माण करता है, वही साधना का अधिकारी है। उनकी वाणी ने प्राणी मात्र के जीवन में मंगल प्रभात का उदय किया।
जब भगवान से यह जिज्ञासा व्यक्त की गई कि आत्मा आँखों से नहीं दिखाई देती तथा इस आधार पर आत्मा के अस्तित्व के सम्बन्ध में शंका व्यक्त की गई तो भगवान ने उत्तर दिया : 'भवन के सब दरवाजे एवं खिड़कियाँ बन्द करने के बाद भी जब भवन के अन्दर संगीत की मधुर ध्वनि होती है तब आप उसे भवन के बाहर निकलते हुए नहीं देख पाते। आँखों से दिखाई न पड़ने के बावजूद संगीत की मधुर ध्वनि बाहर खड़े श्रोताओं को आच्छादित करती है। संगीत की ध्वनि पौद्गलिक (भौतिक द्रव्य) है।

Brace yourselves to live with power cuts. A severe power deficit has affected at least a quarter of the power supply in Bangalore. Now for the worst part: There are no solutions in sight.
Officially, the load-shedding in Bangalore is one hour per day but the bad situation has led to unannounced and unscheduled power cuts for up to a total of four hours every day throughout the city.
So what's causing it? "The power supply to the state has come down by 500mw. This has affected one-fourth of the supply to Bangalore," says Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) managing director Tushar Girinath.
The present demand in Karnataka is 148 million units (mu) and the supply has reduced to 125-128mu. "The availability for Bangalore is only 30-32mu. However, the demand has gone up rapidly. There have been power outages in the last one week," said an official.
Bangalore was just getting used to the one-hour power cut schedules. With the exams round the corner, it's going to be a big problem for students. "The power goes off during night and it is unscheduled. Sometimes there is no power for more than an hour during the night. Forget study, we can't even sleep properly," says Vinod MK, a student from Vijayanagar, one of the worst-hit places.
Bescom officials have a different take to the power story. They say load-shedding in Bangalore is for four hours a day, not one hour a day. Even the companies are complaining. Lohith R, an employee with a software solutions company on MG Road, said frequent power cuts interrupted their work schedule at least five times on Friday. "In the last three days, power cuts have been a headache for us," he said.
Industries are incurring losses almost every day due to unscheduled power cuts. "If there is one hour power cut, the amount of loss to Peenya Industrial Area is Rs1 crore. Now, there are unscheduled power cuts for at least four hours and more," says J Crasta, president of the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI).
"Traders in Chickpet are facing 15% business loss due to power cuts. This is going to increase in the coming days. There is more than five to six hours of power cut everyday. If we face huge losses, we would not be able to pay tax to the government," says Sajjan Raj Mehta, former president of the Karnataka Hosiery and Garment Association.
But Karnataka Power Corporation (KPC) managing director SM Jaamdar says there is no problem. "The KPC supplies 80mu to the state and there has been no problem. We supply 70% of the power requirement to the state and the rest 30% comes from the central grid.

Cow slaughter is already banned in all but a few states, yet it continues rampant and unabated in illegal, unlicensed abattoirs all throughout the country, including in the states where it is banned. In fact, according to one estimate, there are approximately 32,000 unlicensed abattoirs in operation in India today. Moreover, countless cows are reportedly transported in gruesome conditions and smuggled across the West Bengal border into Bangladesh to be killed. A total ban on cow slaughter will not have any real effect unless unlicensed abattoirs are also closed and transport is monitored but DEFINITELY IT WILL CURTAIL THE ACTIVITIES TO THE MINIMUM LEVEL AND WE ARE THANKFUL TO THE KARNATAKA GOVERNMENT FOR PASSING THE BILL AFTER THOROUGH DISCUSSION.. As it stands now, most police and government officials turn a blind eye to the thriving illegal slaughter trade BUT NOW WITH THE REQUIRED POWERS IN HAND,THEY WILL BE MORE VIGILANT..

THE BAN ON COW SLAUGHTER IN KARNATAKA IS A VALID STEP AND NEEDS THE SUPPORT OF ONE AND ALL ABOVE THE PARTY POLITICS..ENTIRE JAIN AND HINDU COMMUNITY IS OBLIGED BY THIS.IF NOT IN INDIA THEN WHAT YOU THINK IT WILL HAPPEN IN BANGLADESH OR PAKISTAN ?

Bangalore: Property owners in Bangalore are likely to get some relief shortly as the State Government has hinted that it has an “open mind” on continuing the annual rateable value (ARV)-based system for assessment of property tax instead of introducing the capital value system (CVS)-based assessment which has been opposed by the citizens. An indication in this regard was given by Transport Minister R. Ashok and Excise Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu during a public discussion on issues related to property tax assessment and Akrama-Sakrama scheme, organised for the first time by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Tuesday. Mr. Naidu clarified that the BJP Government was not adamant on imposing the CVS but instead had an “open mind” on adopting a people-friendly tax assessment system. “We would not have convened the public hearing if we wanted to introduce the CVS,” Mr. Naidu said. Earlier, Mr. Ashok said he had opposed the CVS while participating in interactive meetings with residents’ welfare associations before the Assembly elections, and clarified that there was no change in his stand even today. He said it was not the officials who would decide on which system should be adopted for property tax assessment but the Cabinet Sub-Committee, based on public opinion. The indication came from the Ministers after a large number of residents held a protest against the Government in front of Ravindra Kalakshetra, where the discussion was held, alleging that it (BJP) had failed to keep its promise made during elections that the CVS would be withdrawn. Many residents, during the discussion, said they had voted the BJP in the Assembly elections on the basis of its promise to withdraw the CVS; but for their support, the party would not have won 17 seats in Bangalore city. “The BJP will not win elections either to the BBMP or Parliament if it decides to introduce the CVS,” chorused Sajjan Raj Mehta and many others. The residents also took advantage of the statement made by BBMP Commissioner S. Subramanya that the civic body’s revenue would not go up by just introducing the CVS as it was only in need of a legally approved method to collect property tax.
