BANGALORE: The former president of Karnataka Hardware and Allied Merchant Association and Vice-President (South) of Confederation of All India Traders Association B.K. Goyal (68) passed away here on Friday night.
According to family sources, Mr. Goyal was admitted to a private hospital on Friday morning after he complained of chest pain and uneasiness. He breathed his last around 9 p.m.
An expert on taxation issues, Mr. Goyal was a member of the Karnataka State VAT Committee, the Karnataka Service Taxes Committee and trustee of Sri Devagiri Venkateshwara Temple in Banashankari. Mr. Goyal had contributed much to the growth of trade and industry, and also for the betterment of civic amenities , Sajjan Raj Mehta, former president of Karnatana Hosiery and Garment Association said.
