Intermittent moderate to heavy rainfall in the city , paralysing routine and commercial activities and submerging roads and streets, exposing the ineffectiveness of the city government’s rain emergency plan. The city’s infrastructure crumbled under the 2 hours rain. A flood-like situation was witnessed on major roads, with the city’s drainage and sewerage systems unable to withstand the onslaught of heavy showers. Many areas were resultantly gridlocked, and citizens struggled till late night to make it home due to sparse public transport or their vehicles breaking down. Heavy rains lashed several areas such as Central business district,Chickpet,Chamrajpet & Majestic areas & other areas too but worst affected due to lack of basic ammenties were these areas..It is better that civic authorities get alert before any major disaster takes place & scientific drainage system and garbage collection system is extended to these areas as well. .Let us prey that BBMP will take care of the griem situation in the Old Bangalore City othewise we will switch on the warning antennas.. Hope necessary measures will be taken.. THANKS A LOT..
